What is the Fast Break Club?
The Fast Break Club was formed in the mid 1980's to support the U of O Women's Basketball program. Through the years the club has been able to support the program in many ways. Plus we give UO WBB fans a chance to learn more about the game and about our team.
A big benefit of being a Fast Break Club member are the FBC members' Socials held after after key games where you can meet coaches, players and the players' families. You can read more about the Socials on our FBC Events page.
FBC Half-Time Bingo...
Thanks to your support of the FBC's popular Half-Time Bingo we have raised more than $230,000 allowing us to fully fund the Teresa Smith Women's Basketball Scholarship Endowment!
With the achievement of the scholarship goal, funds raised through your support of the Fast Break Club can now go toward other great ways of supporting the WBB program. The club will be working work closely with the program to determine how the FBC can best support the student-athletes.
We are always looking for volunteers to help out with Bingo at the basketball games. Each game we need 4-6 volunteers to sell Bingo cards to fans before the game. You can work just one game or as many as you want! All proceeds from Bingo go directly to supporting the Women's Basketball program in ways that benefit the student-athletes. Look at it as a way to do your bit to help a program you love. You will have fun and meet many wonderful fans. Email us to be a Bingo volunteer.
Thank You Bi-Mart ~ FBC Business Sponsor!
The UO Fast Break Club's Half-time Bingo could not happen without the generous support of Bi-Mart, our long-time business sponsor. Be sure you let Bi-Mart know that you appreciate their support of local athletics. Let's all go shopping!
Let us know if your business would like to support the UO Fast Break Club.
MEET THE BOARD!
Born and raised in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Graduated Klamath Union High School 1967. Attended Southern Oregon College (SOC) till 1970. Moved to California and attended University of California, Stanislaus and graduated 1971.BA in Psychology, minor Sociology May 1972, employed by the Merced County Sheriff’s Dept. and retired in September of 1992, medically because of a job injury, as Detective Sgt. and lead investigator of homicides. Merced County provided additional education because of the medical retirement and I finished my 5th year in education and became an elementary teacher in 1993. Taught two years of 4th grade, one year of 5th grade, and then transferred to the junior high where I taught 12 years of 8th grade Language Arts. In addition, I coached both 7th and 8th grade girls’ basketball for 12 years. Retired from education in 2008.
Married the love of my life and best friend, Shirley, in 1980. We have one daughter, Stephanie, married to Tim and they live in California. We have two grandchildren, Kyle and Emily.
From 2008 to 2012, Shirley and I volunteered at “Railtown 1896.” Live steam train excursions where we were both docents on and off the train. Shirley and I decided it was time to leave California and in April of 2012 we moved to Springfield. Our passion for the Oregon Ducks expanded even more as we were able to attend events in person. Season ticket holders of womens’ basketball, volleyball, and softball; as well as mens’ basketball. In addition we volunteer for Track Town.
Moving to Oregon was the best decision we have ever made and as true Duck fans say, “GO DUCKS!”

My interest in collegiate sports began as a freshman at the University of Washington as a Husky, increased during my years at UC Berkeley as a Cal Bear, and now has made me a University of Oregon Duck for life.
I have been going to Duck Women's Basketball games since I moved to Eugene in 1979. When I was young, I fought fires in the West and Alaska in summers and went to school in the winters. I graduated with a degree in Business from the U of O in 1990 and went indoors for a career in Human Resources. I love working for the Forest Service where I do recruitment and staffing.
Carol James, Bingo Operations & Developmental Director
I was born and raised in Springfield, graduating from Thurston in 1972. I was a scoring member of Thurston's 1970 girls state championship track and field team which still holds the record for most points scored in a state meet. I played basketball at UO and have always been a women's sports fan. I am retired and enjoy traveling. GO DUCKS!!.

Michelle Cordon, Socials Director
Back in the 70’s, some of Oregon’s Kamikaze Kids played schoolyard hoops at my cub scout outing, and I became a fan of Ducks & Basketball.
Over time, WBB has become my favorite. I love the teams+players+game, but there is something about the fans+environment that is uniquely great to be a part of. It is good to connect with fellow WBB fanatics via the Fast Break Club.
Frank Paliotta, Treasurer
25 years of accounting experience, both in business and as a professor. Born in the Bronx, New York. I have been an Oregon Duck sports fan since I moved here in 2009. A season ticket holder for Women's Basketball. True to my roots; however, I am a die-hard Yankee fan.

I was born in Medford, Oregon, graduating from Crater High School in 1969. I attended the University of Oregon competing in gymnastics for four years graduating in 1973. I am retired from the Postal Service. I have two sons and one adorable granddaughter. I, along with my Mother and sister, became season ticket holders in the 1990's. I have been a FBC member since 1998 and a board member for seven years.
I'm a 4th generation Oregonian and was a teacher for 28 years, coaching middle school basketball for 25. I have been watching UO women's basketball since Bev Smith’s playing days and a season ticket holder for over 20 years. I have been a FBC member for over 10 years and a board member for 5 years.
I love my Ducks and am a sports fan for a variety of Duck teams. My personal favorite is Women's Basketball, and I've been fortunate to attend consistently since the 90s.
Part of what takes Women's Basketball to an even higher level for me, is the Fast Break Club. The Club provides such a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the game, strategies, our team and coaches. It's such an exciting time to be a Women's Basketball fan at U of O!
